Step By Step Breakdown:

  1. Prep the nails and shape them into long coffin extensions with straight sidewalls and clean squared tips.
  2. Apply a base coat and cure completely.
  3. Paint each nail with a smooth milky-white base and cure until opaque.
  4. Map out evenly sized horizontal and vertical sections to establish the checkerboard grid.
  5. Fill alternating squares with a silver gel polish, leaving the neighboring squares milky white.
  6. Apply a no-wipe top coat over the silver sections and cure according to the product instructions.
  7. Burnish silver chrome powder onto the designated squares to create the highly reflective mirror effect.
  8. Clean away excess chrome and refine the edges so each metallic square remains crisp and defined.
  9. Repeat the alternating checker pattern from the cuticle area through the squared free edge on every nail.
  10. Seal the design with a high-gloss top coat, carefully capping the free edges for a smooth reflective finish.
