Description of Design:
A playful retro manicure featuring extra-long coffin nails with soft nude-pink centers framed by bold black-and-white checkerboard French tips. Estimated Time to Achieve the Look:
110–140 minutes
Step By Step Breakdown:
- Prep the nails and sculpt them into extra-long coffin extensions with straight sidewalls and squared tips.
- Apply a sheer nude-pink polish over the nail bed and cure completely.
- Map out a deep curved French section, leaving the center of each nail nude.
- Fill the French area with alternating black and white squares to create the checkerboard pattern.
- Continue the checker pattern around the sides of the nude section for the framed appearance shown in the photo.
- Use a fine liner brush to add a thin dark outline along the border between the nude center and checkerboard design.
- Create tiny five-petal pink flowers at scattered points across the black and white squares.
- Add small raised centers to the flowers for subtle 3D dimension.
- Keep the flower placement irregular so the checkerboard remains visible and the design does not appear overcrowded.
- Finish with a glossy top coat, carefully working around the raised floral details to preserve their dimension.
